Vic: Man charged over fatal hit-run last month
A 23-year-old man has been charged over a fatal hit-and-run collision in Melbourne'swest a month ago.
The man, from Broadmeadows, was charged last night with culpable driving, conspiracyto pervert the course of justice and other driving and alcohol-related offences.
A man aged in his early 20s died after he was struck by a car as he crossed Mt AlexanderRoad in Ascot Vale on July 14.
Police say that despite the charges being laid, they are still keen to hear from amotorist who could piece together the final moments before the fatal accident.
A burgundy or maroon Ford sedan is believed to have been travelling behind the carthat hit the victim.
The 23-year-old man is due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on August 22.
